Your special package in East Indonesia: Rinca – Komodo – Flores – Alor
This is a special package to combine the visit to the National Park of Komodo with the cultural and natural roundtrip traversing Flores Island and the beach holiday program in one of the best marine park in South East Asia, the Archipelago of Alor. This trip will start from Labuhan Bajo of West Flores upon your arrival from Lombok or from Bali.
Komodo National Park and the Komodo Dragon
Komodo National Park lies in the heart of ‘Wallace Line’. The Wallace region resulted from two colliding together to form a unique set of volcanic islands that contain a mixture of both Australian and Asian birds and animals. The Komodo Dragon can run up to 18 km/h for short distances when frightened,. Usually, they run at a slower pace of 8-10 km/h. Large dragon usually weigh up to 90 kg (198 pounds). The largest Komodo dragon ever measured weighed 165.9 kilograms (365 pounds) but this might be because its belly was full of food.
Flores
The python-like island with narrow and sinuous axis traversing the lush tropical forest, home to the active volcanoes and the natural beauty and hospitality where you will have an opportunity to walk from village to village and to trek the active volcanoes.
Alor
The main land of Alor Archipelago is volcanic, mountainous, and attractive with its highest volcano of Gunung Potomana (1,765 m). The archipelago offers a great nature and marine park with superb marine biodiversity to its visitors.

Day 01: Lombok/Bali – Labuhan Bajo/West Flores - Rinca Island
Transfer to the airport for flight to Labuhan Bajo, Flores. Flores is mountainous with attractive narrow and sinuous road, a typical habitat of the Indonesian-Polynesian. Upon the arrival, meet your local guide and then transfer to the pier for boating to Rinca, the former official ranch of Bimanese Sultan with attractive fauna and flora, and landscape on the 3-hour navigation. Arrival in Rinca late in the afternoon. Overnight on board or at the Ranger House. Lunch, dinner.
Day 02: Rinca – Komodo – Labuhan Bajo
After breakfast, soft trek in the Komodo National. Accompanied by the local guide, walk through the savannas and the steppes following the natural island paths with a great possibility to encounter the giant lizards of Komodo, the monkeys, the wild horses, the birds, and the buffalos. If you are lucky, you might encounter the new-attacked animal being ripped by the dragons. Return to the boat, and then continued Komodo Island with stop at Pink Beach for snorkeling in one of the best sea gardens in Indonesia. In the afternoon, walk along the island’s trail up to Wanugulung (1.5-hours) to learn more about the dragon, and the Island’s flora and fauna. Return to Labuhan Bajo on the 4-hour navigation. Upon the arrival in Labuhan Bajo, transfer to Puri Sari Beach for overnight. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 03: Labuhan Bajo – Ruteng
Today, you will start your drive along the sinuous axis in superb mountains stretching from the west to the east on the python-like road. Drive 7-hour to Ruteng, a town lies under the silhouette of Mount Ranaka (2,850 m) in the stunning views of the rice fields and the cool mountain breeze, about 1,000 m at the altitude. Overnight at Dahlia Hotel / Similar. En route visit the web-spider-like rice paddy fields of Cancar.
Day 04: Ruteng – Bajawa
Depart for Bajawa with a visit to Liang Bua, the cave of the ancient Floressare, a fossil newly discovered. Stop at Aimere, a small village by the Indian ocean to see the making of Flores traditional alcoholic beverage of “Sopi”. Bajawa is a nice town lies 1,100 at the altitude at the foot of the active Mount Inerie (2,353). Overnight at Silverin.
Day 05: Bajawa
After breakfast, drive to the foot of Mount Inelika to start a soft trek through the coffee plantation and the Melaleuca leucadendra forest to the its cater rim, an active volcano that last erupted in 2001. Continued to the traditional day-market of Bajawa, then on to Lobu, a traditional village where a blend of the former daily animism culture mixes into the Roman Catholic belief. In the afternoon, drive the hot water spring of Soa for bathing.
Day 06: Bajawa - Moni
Depart for Moni, a village at the foot of Kelimutu National Park. En route stop at Panggajawa, the beach of the blue stones, and at Wallogai, a traditional village on a hill overlooking the valleys and the rice fields. Overnight at Wisma Floresare. .
Day 07: Moni - Kelimutu – Maumere (soft trek)
At 4.00 o'clock in the morning, drive one-hour through the greenery of Kelimutu up to the park’s entry to start the 45-minute gentle walk to the peak. See the sun rising and the superb vistas across the three-colors volcanic lakes of Kelimutu while enjoying the hot tea and coffee served by the local on the peak. Descend to the entry point, and return to Moni. After breakfast and a short break, depart for Maumere, the capital of the former Portuguese colonial government in the XVIIth century with en-route visits to Ledalero Museum (craft and history), and to Lela, a village renown for Ikat weaving textile, and colonial government buildings. Overnight at Purnama Sari Hotel/Similar.
Day 08: Maumere – Kupang
Transfer to airport for flight to Kupang. Upon arrival in Kupang, transfer to Cendana Hotel for overnight.
Day 09: Kupang – Alor – Petite Kepa Island
Transfer to the airport for flight to ALor. Upon arrival, transfer to the local harbor for boat to small Kepa Island. Overnight at small Kepa Bungalow.
Day 10/15: Kepa Island – Alor
Free on your own pleasure.
Day 16: Alor – Bali
Transfer to the airport for flight to Bali with transit in Kupang.
